Recently one of our members has completed our first case work as a part of SSA Study Trip. In this case Quanser QUBE-Servo 3 rotary inverted pendulum was used to explore how this platform can serve as the basis for a potential future control engineering project.
The focus of this case was on identifying the key steps involved in system modeling, parameter characterization, and control design steps required to achieve pendulum swing-up and stabilization on real hardware. The results provided an overview of the technical scope, challenges, and learning objectives associated with using the QUBE-Servo 3 as a project platform for future student projects.
